1Who We Are

Aira is a screenwriting application designed for Malayalam filmmakers and storytellers. We provide cloud-based screenplay editing tools accessible via web and mobile.

2Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — used for authentication and account identification. We do not collect phone numbers unless you provide them in your display name.
• Display name — optional name you choose, shown on exported screenplays.
• Screenplay content — the text of your scripts, stored securely in Firebase Firestore cloud storage under your account.
• Malayalam word cache — anonymised Manglish→Malayalam word pairs contributed to our shared transliteration dictionary. This never includes screenplay content.
• Keyboard shortcuts — your custom shortcut preferences, saved to your account.
• Subscription status — whether you are a free or Pro user, and any associated order reference.

3How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Aira application:

• Authenticating your identity and keeping your session active
• Storing and syncing your screenplays across devices
• Restoring your editor settings and preferences
• Improving the Malayalam transliteration dictionary (anonymised word pairs only)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4Data Access & Storage

Your screenplay content is stored in Firebase Firestore, a Google Cloud service, under a path restricted to your account UID. Access is enforced by Firebase Security Rules:

• Only your authenticated account can read or write your scripts
• We do not access or read your screenplay content as part of normal operations
• Firebase infrastructure is hosted in Google data centres with enterprise-grade security

5Security

• Encrypted in transit — all data is sent over HTTPS/TLS, preventing interception
• Securely stored — Firebase Firestore provides server-side encryption at rest
• Auth-gated — Firestore Security Rules restrict access to authenticated users only
• No third-party data sharing — your content is not processed by any advertising or analytics platform

6Third-Party Services

Aira uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication and cloud storage. Firebase Privacy Policy →
• Google Fonts — for UI typography, loaded from Google servers
• Google Play — if you use our Android app

7Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• Access — your screenplay data is always visible to you in the app
• Export — export your screenplays as PDF or .fountain format at any time
• Deletion — you can delete any project from the dashboard; it is permanently removed from our servers. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
• Correction — update your display name at any time in your profile

8Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all associated data including screenplays, preferences, and authentication records will be permanently removed within 30 days.

9Children's Privacy

Aira is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1About Aira

Aira is a web and mobile application for writing and storing screenplays in standard format, with support for Malayalam transliteration. The platform is provided to individuals for personal and professional creative writing purposes.

2Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Aira. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are using Aira on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to agree to these terms on its behalf.

3Acceptable Use

Aira is provided for writing and storing screenplays and creative content. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use Aira to write, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the platform
• Use Aira in any way that could damage, overload, or impair our services
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

4Your Content

You own all screenplay content you create and store in Aira. By using the platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

• You are solely responsible for the content you create and store
• We do not claim ownership of your screenplays
• We do not use your content for training AI models or for any purpose other than providing the service

5Data & Backups

We store your screenplay data securely in Firebase Firestore and auto-save your work as you type. However, we strongly recommend keeping your own backups:

• Export your screenplays as PDF or .fountain format regularly
• We are not liable for data loss due to unforeseen technical failures, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond our control
• We make reasonable efforts to maintain data integrity but cannot guarantee 100% data preservation in all circumstances

6Subscriptions & Payments

Aira offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. By subscribing to Aira Pro:

• You authorise us to charge the subscription fee shown at the time of purchase
• Subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled
• You may cancel at any time; access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice
• Refunds are issued at our discretion for verified technical issues preventing access

7Service Availability

We aim for high uptime and reliable performance. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to Aira at all times. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Planned maintenance (we aim to schedule this during low-traffic hours)
• Unexpected technical failures
• Third-party infrastructure issues (e.g. Firebase, hosting provider)
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We will endeavour to restore service as quickly as possible in the event of an outage.

8Intellectual Property

The Aira application, including its design, code, branding, and interface, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the application without our prior written consent.

The Malayalam transliteration engine and shared word dictionary are provided as part of the service. Community-contributed word pairs become part of the shared dictionary available to all users.

9Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aira and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data due to unforeseen technical issues or events outside our control
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
• Loss of revenue, business opportunities, or creative work resulting from service interruption
• Third-party actions or content accessed through links in the application

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your screenplay data will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

11Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the service, legal requirements, or our policies. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Aira after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

12Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Aira shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kerala, India.
